Royal Ascot: Racing, Fashion, and Female Designers Take Center Stage

News flash. Welcome to Royal Ascot.
It’s a beautiful day of racing and fashion and millinery
and tradition and royalty.
And here’s what I’m wearing.
Jacket by Armani.
I’m really into Armani these days,
especially because there’s just something about a designer who,
at the age of 90+,
still seems to have such a passion and precision to their work
that I thought this was a great investment to wear with
this. McQueen full circle skirt by Sarah Burton.
It’s from a few collections ago and it’s in this polka dot.
I love this material McQueen does.
I hope they don’t stop doing it.
And in terms of my Chapo, I am wearing the souffle hat by Miriam Kehani.
She is a Persian, Berlin based fine artist and hat maker.
And I thought this was just the right amount of silly and chic.
And then my pearls are Simon Rocha and my earrings are both B.
My glasses are Prada, so just. Oh,
and my shoes are Chanel.
Perfect for the races as the block heel doesn’t sink in the ground.
And just to do a total count,
we’ve got Armani, male designer,
but female hat designer, female glasses,
female jewelry, female necklace,
female skirt. Love to support the work of women designers
and wish more of them were given positions at the main luxury houses,
because there’s something about purchasing a female designer
that just makes me feel like,
you know what, I’m doing a good thing.
And I Think a lot of us could use that kind of excuse.
So. Hint, hint.
LBMH caring Richmond,
if you’re listening. Give the jobs to the girls
for the girls. And that wraps your newsflash.
