Navigating the Hiring Process for a Serving Job: Part 3 – Making a Good Impression in Person

Part 3 to how to get a serving job.
We’re just getting right into it.
When you follow up in person during hiring hours,
it will help to kind of look similar to the people that work there
already. Similar vibe.
Do your makeup kind of similar.
Do your hair kind of similar.
People like familiarity.
People that have been running restaurants for years and years,
they like familiarity. Step 7.
When you go in and there’s a hostess up at the front desk,
ask them if the hiring manager is available. Okay.
Do not just leave your resume with the 16 year old hostess.
She’s gonna forget about it.
She’s gonna shove it into a drawer.
I was a hostess for years.
I always forgot. Okay, sorry.
If the hiring manager is there,
your chances of getting an interview on the spot are a lot higher,
especially if you’ve already applied online.
If the hiring manager is not there,
you’re gonna ask the hostess for a manager’s business card.
Managers typically have business cards,
are gonna have their email on it.
And you’re gonna email the email on there saying, hi,
I stopped in today, I applied online.
This is my resume.
I really look forward to the opportunity of working together.
Okay, go to fuck.
We’re on part 4. Jesus Christ.
