Exploring the New Frontiers: A Deep Dive into the Latest Update of a Favorite FPS Game

So one of my favorite FPS games of all time just had a major update,
and it honestly kind of feels like a whole new game.
So let’s break some of it down.
First and foremost, a new map, man.
It’s Gulch. And this one is different.
Like, actually really different one.
It’s no longer in the Bayou.
Like the first three maps in the game were
set in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado,
this map looks and plays completely differently.
Far more verticality
and an interesting combination of massive sightlines over valleys,
deep evergreen forest areas,
and sprawling, complex compounds,
all with utterly new aesthetics and assets.
Something that I’ve noticed
is that this map seems to cater very well to engagements
of all ranges, especially ones that pop off when you least expect them,
due to one very new feature of this map,
the sneaking through the mountain at the map center
and connecting two major compounds.
This is one of the places you can find the new roaming boss,
the Hellborn, so there’s a lot of action in this area.
The way that clues leading to boss layers are laid out in the map
is also different here than the other maps.
So that along with switch UPS to perks and weapons,
hidden caches of lootable goodies,
it’s safe to say
that Mammoth Skull is a completely different flavor of hunt
than we’re you used to.
There’s a huge Cry Engine update with this patch as well.
So it was always hunt looks and sounds breathtaking,
especially on max settings.
There’s some interesting
quality of life features people have been asking for,
like the ability to center your crosshair now as well.
So if you’ve been interested in trying out hunt,
it has been and remains to be,
in my opinion, one of the
the most engaging and well designed extraction Pvp shooters out there.
