you need to see how expensive
back to school shopping is right now
in a poll of 2300 adults
31% of them said that buying school supplies
for their children this year
will put them in debt
families with children
elementary school through high school
plan on spending an average of
more than 75% of parents say that they think
the school requires them to buy too much
and then in addition to whatever is required to be purchased by the school
85% of parents say they feel sometimes they’re influenced
to buy their children must have items
popular products like low rise jeans
Adidas campus sneakers
North Face backpacks
so what’s the solution here as a parent
and a back to school shopper
maybe shop for gently used school supplies
sporting goods
electronics
clothing?
or just keep your eyes peeled for deals
on new stuff
should schools lower the prices on some of the items
they require parents to purchase?
or should they not require parents to purchase as much as they do
is it necessary?
And should parents not feel pressure to
buy non essential things for their children
even though I get it you want your kids to be cool
and have friends
and a lot of that rides on having the trending cool clothing
or products
so what are your thoughts on how to best budget
for back to school shopping?
