Exploring Auto-Tune: A Reflection on Finding Your True Voice in Music

Didn’t she tell you to lay off the auto tune or something?
I think when I, I,
I hadn’t really, like,
done auto tune as, like,
an effect to see, like,
you know, like,
to see what that was like.
And I think in early days of the recording,
I was like,
yeah, I was like,
oh, this is cool,
you know, like,
all auto tune. But she was like,
not cool. You can’t even hear your real voice.
This is weird. Don’t do that.
Not a trend for you,
for other people, not for you.
You’re not future. You’re not actually future in your head.
You might think you are future in real life,
but only she can give you that. Like,
only she can, like,
dish that up to you. Oh,
she was texting her about it.
I was joking though, cause he’s like,
oh, my god,
that’s so funny. Like,
the stories people run with,
but, like,
autotune story. But I was like,
I was like, yeah.
No one told me, like,
I wasn’t making, like,
heartbreaks and eight O eights or whatever.
That album. That easy album.
Is that her? No.
That’s what happens when you’re making an album.
You have some good ideas, and then you have, like,
some ideas you think are cool but aren’t.
But that’s all part of the process.
That’s it. Yeah,
it ultimately got. Now I get the gag.
It’s funny.
It got us to where we’re at today.
It’s Funny. Like a mom thinking the auto tune sounds cool
and then are gonna be like,
actually, no.
Yeah, mom,
people might like your real voice.
Not that no one ever uses auto tune for, like,
you know, little effects or, like some.
Some make something really beautiful in a certain way.
But that kind of auto tune where you use it intentionally.
Yeah, I think I had a song where I was like,
trying to use it intentionally.
make it like a sound. Yeah. Haha.
He he. Also,
by the way, your voice is stunning.
Like, you don’t need it.
Thank you.
Thanks for being here. I really appreciate you.
Why am I sad? I don’t believe this is fun.
