Now, is Dolce and Gabbana the one?
Still the one? It’s been many years since I purchased this one,
and of course,
this one has gotten a lot of hype over the past few years.
Of course, with all of these new concentrations coming out,
extensions of the line. Is this one still worth getting?
Well, as far as the smell is concerned,
you’re going to get this ambery warmth.
It’s cozy. You have this balsamic richness.
It does have a bit of a spice intermingling into the composition,
but you are going to get this dried fruit accord,
which I think predominates the composition.
As far as this fragrance is concerned,
it’s great for a night out.
It has a bit of a serious personality.
So despite the sweetness and despite the fruits,
it’s actually not too playful or jovial.
And I think that’s one of the reasons
why this one was as popular as it is.
But you know what the main criticism with this one is?
It doesn’t last.
So you’re going to get about five hours longevity on skin,
and projection was pretty moderate,
within an elbows length for the first hour of application. Look,
I think you can certainly pick up some of the other designations
and concentrations over the original,
which is the eau de toilette.
I know they’ve released several flankers,
and of course, some of them are so elusive,
like the one luminous night,
which is a limited edition release,
and it’s Super expensive as far as the original is concerned.
Look, if you don’t mind reapplying throughout the day,
I think this one is solid.
It does have a certain diffuseness about it that I enjoy,
but one of the qualms, or the drawback
is that it just doesn’t last very long.
So is this my favorite? No,
I don’t think so. I think there are many others from the one line
that I prefer over this one,
and I will make a conscientious effort to review them in the future.
