Exploring the Paradox of Coolness: From Nerdy Demeanor to Tattooed Symbols of Pop Culture

maybe you guys can explain this to me in the comments
so I have a bunch of tattoos recently um
I got my first tattoos that are visible when I’m wearing short
short sleeves that
short sleeve shirts so I’ve been told not once
but twice now at work that
oh wow Andrew
we didn’t know that you were cool
and first of all I didn’t know that we were just saying that to each other now
I was just basically telling me that you
you thought I was lame before
but that’s fine I’m not worried about it
my my question is
so these people these people obviously know me
I work with them so they get the idea of who I am
they you guys see the five I bring to this function of
you know
I have a nerdy demeanor I normally
I wear glasses um
that my tattoos are all nerdy stuff right
it’s this is from Jujutsu Kaisen
this is from you see
this is from Hunter Hunter Marcel
the show these are from some short films that we made with backseat directing
Batman
Joker and Naruto’s 10 trigram seal
it’s just some of them but my question is
how come they know I like the stuff
they know I like video games
anime comic books
superheroes all that stuff
how come knowing I like that stuff makes me lame
but liking it so much that I get it literally tattooed onto my body
makes me cool what
how come liking it more makes me more cool
that’s what I don’t understand
maybe maybe you guys can explain that to me
I mean I have other tattoos to it
some of them are hard to show
I don’t know help me out
