Midsummer Movie Night: A Festive Outfit and Charcuterie Party Inspired by Ari Aster’s Midsommar

Today’s fun outfit is inspired by the Ari Aster film Midsommar.
That is because.
And I just jumped up there.
That’s because tonight we are having a small
little watch party of the movie Midsummer with a couple friends.
So I thought, what a perfect reason to dress in theme.
So I’ve got my little white, um,
festival culty dress, and then I try to do like.
Like kind of milk braid, but not actually a milk braid at all,
just kind of like a twist.
And I poofed it up a little bit
to kind of give that a European festival look.
I have some perfect midsummer temple earrings.
These are from undoubtedly mad,
and they’re perfect. For looks sake,
I am gonna put on these Dr.
Martens sandals with the outfit.
In reality, I will probably be wearing my slippers
cause I’m just staying home.
But, you know,
my outfits are never complete without a purse.
And, you know,
I have the perfect bag for the look.
This is from Backstitch Bruja.
It is a temple to perfectly match my temple earrings.
But the best part, in my opinion,
of this bag is the keychain.
I put it on the zipper. Pull. Look,
it’s a bear! He’s on fire!
If, you know,
you know, basically if you’ve seen the movie.
Um, our friends who are coming over to watch it with us,
I don’t think that they’ve seen it,
so they won’t get it until they get it.
You know, and I also got these little flower headbands for everyone.
Really? There’s too many.
We can probably all have two.
But I thought it was perfect for the movie theme.
Um, Alex is doing, like,
a charcuterie board with, like, uh.
I don’t know, obviously cheese and stuff,
but we’re trying to make it like midsummer.
Maybe some triangles in there.
Uh, I was gonna do, like,
some Teddy Grahams and some gummy bears.
You know, bear.
I think I’m gonna put this little blue one in
to kind of tie in the blue from my earrings,
the blue from the dress. And I’m going to try not to mess up my hair.
Yes, I like the blue.
Love the whole look.
I love the idea of just taking a regular movie night
and making it a fun theme.
This is my charcuterie board.
Not because I made it, because it was my idea.
I love sweets. These are a lot of my favourite things.
We’ve got, uh,
Teddy Grahams, you know,
the bears. And then some gummy bears.
You know, bears.
This is the real charcuterie board that Alex made.
Get that little temple in the Brie. Right.
Midsummer pinafore. Ashley got this for me for Christmas last year.
She is here in spirit. A cute little midsummer,
kind of like, movie poster and a bear.
And we’ve got our crowns for our guests.
