This is one of them jobs that I’ve been putting off for a long time
because the possibility of a leak scares me.
If you’re new here, I’m Ryan,
and I’m converting a Volkswagen Crafter into a camper van.
And today we’re gonna be installing the MAX fan.
So we started by making a frame up,
then marking the opening on the roof,
then pilot hole the roof.
I then joined all four corners up with a marker pen
and started to cut the hallway in bits.
So rather jiggy.
Well, there’s no going back now. I hope it’s right.
I bet my missus thought, what’s this idiot doing up roof?
As she took a picture of me using the tape and sikaflex.
We get the fan base down,
I made pilot holes and screwed into the timber below.
The thing I was dreading the most, rain.
It started raining, so I quickly cleaned up the sikaflex.
This is an awful job
and I can see why so many people make a complete mess of it.
Got the fan in the hole quickly
and then quickly covered it up to let the sikaflex dry.
The following day, we can peel off the film,
which is so satisfying. And then let’s test for leaks. Rain check.
I’m so happy to announce there’s no leaks.
We smashed it,
got it all wired up and works absolutely spot on.
So impressed with it.
Although it does make quite a loud noise when it Lifts up
I’m very happy how it turned out.
Now I can finally get the ceiling done. Follow for more content.
