Preparing for My Passport Picture: A 10-Year Moment

I’m going to get my passport picture taken,
which is daunting because this has to be good.
It has to last me like 10 years.
So let’s get ready. Just landed in Emerton,
got to my parents house like 20 minutes ago um haha.
And somehow it looks like a tornado.
I’m back home for like a week and a half.
I have to renew my passport,
which I know I can do from the US,
but you have to send it off
and I feel like it takes like a whole month.
So I thought I’d just do it while I was home anyways.
And so I’m gonna get my picture done today
and my sister in law just texted me
she’s gonna take me to go get my picture done.
Um. That the kids just woke up from their nap
so she’s 10 minutes out. We’re gonna make this speedy.
Also for a passport picture,
like what kind of makeup do you do?
You have to like keep it looking like yourselves.
I think I’m just gonna do like a light foundation,
maybe like a little touch of blush. Um,
cause I, I want to look good.
It’s gonna last me like 10 years,
which is wild to think like my next passport I’m gonna apply for.
I’m gonna be 47. Ah.
This is gonna be my like best one yet.
I was talking to some people back in New York and I feel like Canada
you have the Option of five or 10 years.
Like, my last one was the first time we could ever do ten year option.
Like, it was always five years,
I think, from what I remember.
And in the US, they’re like, no,
it’s always been 10 years.
You don’t even get an option for five years.
Like, why would you do a 10?
Why would you do a five year one?
Like, I guess that makes sense.
Also, if you guys saw my day,
my life from this past weekend,
I went and did, like,
they call it a Diamond glow facial,
and I don’t have any beauty filter on right now.
I broke out, like,
on the plane, of course.
Um, but I feel like it really,
um,
did good on my skin. They said it’s like a Hydrafacial,
but it’s from the makers of Botox,
so it, like,
extracts, but also, like, infuses, hydration.
But I like what it did. Of course,
I had to go to Timmy’s at the airport.
I’ve been up since, like, 2:30.
I always come home at the start of July,
so I’m kind of excited that I’m home end of August
just for, like,
I don’t know, it’s like the seasons changing.
Back to school, the last little barbecues.
See family, friends
would be nice, hang out.
Also, like,
what do you wear to your passport picture taken?
I think I have to change my top.
Like, I think you have to wear a Solid color.
This is so stressful. Even the form,
like, I haven’t even filled out the form yet,
which was supposed to do and take tomorrow.
Like, the questions confuse me.
Like, it.
It says like, put your address,
so, like,
it’s like, do I put my American address
even though this is for a Canadian passport?
I’m so confused. Like,
I don’t have dual citizenship,
I’m just on a work visa.
And I tried calling and of course nobody answers.
I also was working with this makeup artist this weekend
and she told me, um,
she’s actually Canadian too,
but she lives in, well,
she’s been in New York for like 20 years.
But she said one time her passport picture got denied because her, like,
nose was shiny. So I should bring this powder.
Probably can’t forget the eyebrows.
I also don’t want to do anything too crazy
cause it’s like in 10 years from now,
I look back at my picture and be like,
oh gosh, what were you doing with your makeup?
I feel like this is very natural. Hopefully.
Alright, rings on.
Let’s see. I forget where all these rings go. Okay.
Alright, we are done.
My natural passport picture
makeup. Um,
I’m gonna change my top. Uh,
this is how I wear my hair anyways,
which is in my favour
because I think this is how you have to have your hair for
passport photo. Passport photo.
Um, but yeah,
I’m gonna go do my Photo and my passport tomorrow,
so I’ll bring you guys along. Anyways, bye guys.
