Christian Reviews of Regular Books: Unseen by Karen Slaughter – A Detailed Analysis

it is time for my Christian review of regular books
and no spoiler review of unseen by Karen Slaughter
if you haven’t been to one of these videos before
here’s how it’s gonna go down
first I do my regular review
what you know and love to expect from a book review
star rating what I recommend it
what I thought etc
then I get into my Christian review
and that’s where I go over the basic pieces
that may or may not have a fellow believer wanting to read the book
I do this so that you can make the decision that’s best for you
and just as a reminder if you and I disagree with what’s okay
that’s okay
I am doing all of this just so that you have the most amount of information
and if you want more of my caveats or how this all works
you can head to the link that’s pinned at the top of my profile
but for now let’s go ahead and get into my regular review
unseen is the seventh book in the Will Trent series
I have been slowly making my way through all of Karen Slaughter’s
Will Trent series there is like 10 or 11 books with the newest one
and originally I thought I had to read all these in super speed
and so I’ve been listening like constantly
but then I found out that I don’t have to read it until October
that gave me the nice ability to pause
because I was starting to get a little bit bored of the cop
unaliving mystery books and I wanted to take a break
but I didn’t want to do a disservice to Karen Slaughter
or even to my reading experience with the Wheel Trip series
and ultimately go to another book and miss all of these things in between
so now I have time now on to book number seven
I have to say that I really enjoyed this book
and I don’t think that the issue was the book
I think the issue was with my mood
I think I was done reading Will Trent books
but I didn’t want to be done
or I didn’t feel like I could be done with Will Trent books
it was everything that I love about a Will Trent book
so I’m gonna just ignore my vibe and my feeling in it
and I’m gonna instead focus on the story itself
I think that the crime itself was really interesting and kept me engaged
and I really liked what was happening there
I also love the character dynamics
and the way that the world building is happening
I love learning about all the different characters
now I’m very invested in the male main character
which is Will Trent and I want to know what’s happening with them all the time
like I am so invested
each of these books reminds me so much of like
a law and Order SVU and I love that it makes it so much fun
cause that’s like literally one of my favorite shows
ultimately I ended up writing this book
four stars and again
I think that the issue is a me thing
so I try not to rate based off of my mood
but instead
based off of all the things that I know well about these Karen Slaughter
Will Trent books and just focus on that
because in always it should be one of
one of the good ones it was fast paced and it did keep me engaged
so those are categories I look for
on top of that I really liked the story itself
now let’s go ahead and get into my Christian review
the first category I always love to touch on with these books
and any book is smart or spice
and there is one scene where there is like
an intense seen it is not explicitly described
however it is more described than some of the other books
and it is more described than saying there is zero smut or spice at any time
so just something to keep in mind
it is very easily avoidable
you guys you can just skip right past it
so don’t stress too much about it
and again it’s one scene
but I just wanna give you guys a heads up
the second category is explicit language
and once again I don’t know what happened with that first book
but everything after that is not super explicit in language
and it’s super fun to read
and so that’s amazing and the last category is violence or Gore
now listen
this one had a little more violence and Gore than some of her previous books
and they come out of kind of nowhere
like they’re just very intense scenes
and then it’s story very intense scene than story
so the gory scenes in this book were described
I don’t think it’s to the point of squeamish
but definitely a little more described than some of the other books
or some of the other thrillers that I recommend to you guys
so just something to keep in mind
ultimately I would give this my like
light stamp of approval I don’t really see a huge issue with like
any of these categories however
I do know there are probably people who would
I just wanna give you guys a heads up to make the decision that’s best for you
