An Ode to College Football: The Frustrations and Excitement of Week Zero

God damn it, college football!
If you’re gonna give me something,
give me something. Why not
instead of one game that’s good on week zero
and a couple of throwaway games,
why not every single window?
Why not give me a good noon game?
Why not give me a good 3:30 game and a good 6:00 game?
Why? Why in week 0 do we not have a good prime time game?

Friday premiere,
and then they’ll start playing the movie at Thursday at noon,
and it’s okay. Well,
it takes away all of the hype I wanna have.
If they are telling us
August 31st is the first day of college football,
the first real. At no point.
At no point have they told us that.
Well, obviously we’re getting some tomorrow,
but yeah, it’s a downgrade.
so you’re not gonna watch the Thursday night games next week either?
Maybe, but I know Saturday is going to be.
That’s going to be the day where I fully lock in.
That’s going to be the day where we’re all in on college football,
because that is, in my eyes,
the official start. Well
