Transforming Irish Waves: A Haircut Journey

got another video of Irish waves for you
right now on the top
she kinda barely has any bend in some areas
and her underneath is definitely more of a tighter wave
she was growing out her hair
giving it a shot and then she came in and she said
you know what I just wanna love my hair
and I don’t so let’s cut it off
a lot of people with Irish waves
her hair is really heavy so she has high density
and her strands are coarse
she showed me a cute little picture of a Bob
so I was like yeah
let’s do it now for most people that have hair like hers
the shorter her top is um
and lighter it is it’s actually probably gonna lay better
otherwise that top section that just really doesn’t have a lot of bend to it
is just gonna lay really heavy and flat
now you’re gonna notice that when I’m cutting her hair
it’s gonna lay really heavy and blunt in certain areas
it’s not gonna stay like that
a haircut like this I break down into two parts
we do the base cut right now
and then once she’s all styled out
I go back in and kind of texturize and soften those harsher lines
and also this part of the process can be really scary for clients because one
she’s losing a lot of hair
and two it’s looking really blunt in certain areas
and I just you know
remind them it’s not gonna look like this when we’re all done
she trusted the process so I didn’t have to worry about her
but you need to just be aware of that
with certain clients it will make them nervous
tipping the head to the side
so I can get all the little hairs that are kinda stuck underneath
get those all cleaned up I know some of you guys are scared
you’re looking at this cut and being like
oh my gosh
how’s this gonna look good
come back for part 2
where I’m gonna show you how amazing this cut turned out when we were done
