The Unparalleled Rarity and Craftsmanship: A Closer Look at Cartier London Watches

24,000. Yeah,
so I got the watch, and judging by the comments in the original video,
some of you really want to know
why I would spend almost $40,000 on this watch?
This is a tank normale
created by Cartier London for a period of less than 10 years,
starting in 1966, in the height of the swinging Sixties.
Cartier London
basically operated completely independently from Cartier New York
and Cartier Paris. And they were completely doing their own thing,
using their own logos, their own design language,
and coming up with their own crazy designs.
Like the original Cartier crash,
the one that sells for well over $1 million,
the Cartier Pebble, which was just reissued,
the Losange, and the Maxi Oval.
All of these designs were born in Cartier London.
This is by far
one of the most interesting and collectible eras of Cartier period.
All the watches that came out of Cartier London
were handmade by Cartier’s English artisans
in their own workshops.
This watch could have taken 40 to 50 hours to make.
If you compare a couple of the 1960s Cartier crashes,
they all have slightly different cases
and they all have slightly different dials.
These were truly handmade,
artisanal objects. Again,
the London watches are some of the most collectible,
and you will only see a small handful of them pop up for sale
in any given year because of their rarity.
This one happens to be in insane condition,
better condition than even the auction
Stated it was listed without any hallmarks,
but I found all of the hallmarks.
The British assay marks which dates this in 1968,
the famous JC Hallmark which is on all the London watches
which stands for Jacques Cartier.
And I value this watch at around $80,000.
You can debate that in the comments,
but if you wanted to find one of these in this condition today,
you would have a very hard time.
