Controversy in AFL Match as Umpire Is Injured by Fan’s Water Bottle Throw

A bloodied AFL goal umbre
has been taken from the game after a fan threw a water bottle at him
during a match between Carlton and St Kilda.
The umpire had his back to supporters
and appears to have been struck by a bottle thrown from the stands,
which left a cut on the back of his head.
He immediately felt for the wound when he was struck
and a reserve umpire took his place.
