Embracing Summer: A Guide to Making the Most of the Season

Are you one of those people that complains about winter and how boring and cold it is and how there is like nothing for you to do and how much you miss summer. But when summer actually comes around, you do Jack . Me too. Me too. But one of the reasons why I do Jack during summer is because I just don’t know what to do. So I made a list of things to do and I’m gonna share it with you guys.

No.1, go on a nature walk and actually enjoy nature. Enjoy the weather that you have been waiting for. Put in some earbuds, pretend you’re in a movie or a music video, go on an adventure. Look at some bugs, look at some cool rocks, look at trees, look at leaves, look at plants. I don’t care. Just enjoy the fact that it’s summer. Put on some comfy clothes or a cute workout set, grab a water bottle, grab your earbuds and go.

Prime example of what I’m go watch the sunset. I don’t know. Go outside. No. 2, and this is something I’ve been wanting to do for so long, go Berry picking. And whatever berries you get, make pies with it. Doesn’t that sound like so much fun and it sounds so cute. Take some cute pictures while you’re at it. Like, don’t know how to bake. Me neither. Just do it.

No. 3, have fires, roast marshmallows, make smores, roast hot dogs. I don’t know. And along with that, No. 4, go camping. I loved camping as a kid, but then I got into my pre teen, Wanna be Cool kid stage and I thought camping was gross and boring because I had a phone. And then I kind of just never went camping again.

No. 6, I think grab a journal and go reflect and sit in the sun, do a brain dump, doodle, draw, paint. I don’t know. Just go and be creative and be yourself while sitting in the sun and get a good tan while you’re at it, too. Make a scrapbook or even try flower pressing. I used to do that so much as a kid. Me and my family would go camping a lot. I would even put leaves into my journal. I had a really cool journal. Be creative. Stop staring at your phone all day. Get a disposable camera and take a bunch of cute photos. And speaking of photos, take enough photos in the summer, make enough memories in the summer that by the end of the summer, you can make a photo album. You can even make a summer scrapbook, another one, if you’re like me and you love creating content, look on Pinterest and go and recreate some of those photos. Find some photos that you love and go and try and recreate them. It doesn’t even have to be pictures of your face or of your body. I think one good way to go and do something outside when you don’t know what else to do is just go and recreate some photos. That’s one way I show my creativity.

Another thing you can do is you can go to a nearby beach or lake and have a beach day. Go cliff jumping, go tan, go make sandcastles, go do things that you used to do as a kid. Not only is it healing, but also it’s just fun. Doesn’t almost everybody enjoy doing things that they used to do as a kid? Another thing you can do is make bracelets, necklaces, jewelry. Go get one of those huge packs of beads and string and go make some bracelets. Or by rainbow Loom. That was such a huge thing. Why don’t we do that anymore?

Another thing you can do is make homemade lemonade or even homemade ice cream. I remember when I was a kid, I read a book about how to make ice cream at home using some ice and some sandwich bag eggs. And I’ve wanted to do that so bad but never did do like that this summer. Go swimming. Go to an outdoor swimming pool. Go to a water park. If you have more money, go to an amusement park or even go to a carnival. Go to things you can only do in the summer. Cuz trust me, if you have horrible winters like I do and your summers are extremely short, you are going to regret not doing all the things that you could only do in summer, and then you’re gonna spend all winter waiting for summer to come back. We’re not gonna do that this summer. I’m not gonna do that this summer. If you have a pool party, if you don’t have a pool, buy a little kitty pool. Go bowling, go to the zoo, go cloud watching or just lay down and look at the stars. Go to a river and skip some rocks. Go get ice cream on a cone and walk around and eat that ice cream. Or if you get a chance, go to the ice cream truck, go on a bike ride or even go fishing. I don’t know if I said this one already, but go have a picnic. I think I already said that. I don’t remember. Go on a mini road trip or a full blown road trip. Go put your bare feet in the grass and literally feel the grass in between your toes. Seriously, go and do that. Go and connect with Mother Nature. Go to a flower field. Go pick flowers. But I think the biggest thing for me is romanticize your life.

mosquitoes. Romanticize your life. Do things that you see on Pinterest, do things that you used to do as a kid or things that you always wanted to do as a kid but never got to do. What would little you do?
