Making MLB History: A Player’s Double Team Debut

One day in Major League Baseball,
there’s gonna be some unique history made.
For the first time ever,
a player is going to play for both teams in the same game.
Current catcher for the Red Sox,
Danny Jansen, played for the Blue Jays to start the year
until he got traded just before the deadline in late July.
But back in late June,
the Sox and Jays met with Jansen catching for Toronto.
He was at the plate in the second inning when the heavens opened.
Rain delay ended up postponing the game to a later date.
Well, that later date is Monday.
Boston and Toronto will make up the rest of the game
in a double header, picking up where they left off.
Top two. But Danny now plays for the opposite team.
He’ll take over catching duties for Boston as catcher.
Reese Mcguire, who was starting the game back in June,
was sent down during the trade for Jansen.
And with that, MLB history will be made.
