The Love of God: Understanding the Trinity and the Father’s Unconditional Love

A lot of people think that the father is angry with them,
and Jesus is the one that appeases the father.
And, of course,
there is a sense
in which the death of Jesus does appease the wrath of god.
But we need to understand without question
that the father loves us just as much as Jesus.
The most familiar verse in the Bible says,
for god so loved the world
that he gave his only begotten son to save us.
And that’s talking about the father.
Uh, in John 14 and verse 6,
Jesus said, I am the way,
the truth, and the life.
He is the way. Without him,
there’s no going. He is the truth.
Without him, there’s no knowing.
He is the life. Without him,
there’s no true living. But then he says,
if you had known me, you would know the father.
So the father loves you just as much as Jesus does.
And in fact, it would be accurate to say,
if the father had become a human being instead of the son,
he would have acted exactly like Jesus did.
He would have loved and been gracious just like Jesus is.
Uh, they are the same in the way that they view you.
Uh, they both love you.
So you need to love and respect the father
just as you love and respect the Son.
Jesus made that clear repeatedly
that the way we feel about one is the way we feel about The other.
So don’t think that the Father’s mad at you,
but Jesus is the one who loves you.
They both love you. And the father feels exactly about you
as Jesus does. Love the father,
the son, and the Holy Spirit.
Even though we don’t fully understand the Trinity,
we can love the Trinity
and we can appreciate all that god has done for us.
