Top 5 makeup mistakes you’re probably making
and how to easily fix them.
No. 1 are your tools. I don’t care how expensive or nice your makeup is,
if you’re not using quality tools,
it’s not gonna come out good.
And quality doesn’t mean expensive.
Colourpop and ELF both make great,
affordable brushes.
And also be sure that your brushes are actually clean.
Clean your brushes. I know it’s been too long.
Number two is you’re not setting your liquids with a powder.
I don’t care how old you are or how dry your skin is,
you need to be setting your liquid products with some sort of powder.
Just gonna make everything look so much more flawless
and airbrushed on the skin.
And it’s also gonna help to lock everything in place
so that it lasts all day long.
Without the powder, liquids are gonna slip and slide
and settle into your creases and fine lines.
If you have dryer and more mature skin,
use a lighter finishing powder.
If you have more oily skin,
use something more mattifying.
Next is making sure your complexion products work together
instead of against each other.
And what I mean by that is
you don’t want to use some sort of oil based primer like this
and then go in with a water based foundation
and expect them to go together.
Obviously oil and water work against each other.
So if you’re using an oil or silicone based primer,
use an oil Or silicone based foundation.
Vice versa for water based.
Next is your skin prep. And I’m not talking about primer.
I’m talking about your actual skincare routine.
If you’re not taking care of your skin,
your makeup can only look so good
sitting on top of a canvas that’s not been taken care of.
That doesn’t mean we need a 57 part skincare routine
or anything expensive. At the very least,
just make sure you’re cleansing your skin to clean it
and then applying a moisturizer to moisturize and hydrate the skin
before you go in with makeup.
And lastly, don’t skip curling your lashes.
I did this for years.
I would just buy a curling mascara and layer it on
thinking that it was doing something.
No, you need.
Need to take that extra step and curl your lashes.
It’s gonna make such a difference
because it’s gonna pick your lashes up
and then really allow the mascara to work.
They’re gonna look so much better.
Don’t skip that step
because it truly makes the biggest difference in opening up the eyes.
Hope this is helpful. Bye.
