Creating a Japanese-Inspired Hoodie: A DIY Journey

I recently bought this book called Japanese Patterns,
and like the title says,
it’s full of different print patterns from Japan.
So today, I’m gonna be using this one to make a cool hoodie.
Using illustrator, I image traced it,
then I mocked it up on my hoodie pattern,
then I printed it out, and now it’s time to make a hoodie.
I’m gonna be using this French Terry fabric right here.
I got it from one of my favorite fabric shops called Mill End.
If you’re in Portland, Oregon,
you should go check it out.
All right, time to speed run this hoodie.
It’s now 12:34 a m. I’ve been cutting all day.
I took a break to play basketball.
This is the front, cut out back,
and two sleeves. Forgot to record the process of me sewing this down,
but basically,
I just use my straight stitch machine and went around all of the edges.
Here’s how the final hoodie looks.
My favorite detail. My favorite details.
On the back, it goes over the arm seam.
And here’s how it fits on body.
This flower on the sleeve, back.
Anyways, thank you for watching,
and I’ll be making another one soon.
