Cracking the Code: Designing Pinterest Templates that Drive Clicks

I know this is kind of a weird thing to say,
but I was really intimidated with, um,
all the pretty templates that I saw, um,
that you can use for Pinterest and I was like, wow,
these are so pretty and I wanna use them and then I did um,
use them quite a bit when I first started my blog
and I didn’t see any success and I barely was getting any clicks
and I was like, wait,
like there’s all these beautiful templates,
they’re beautifully designed.
How come I’m not getting any clicks?
And now we’re three years down the line
and I’ve completely figured it out
and this might not be a nice thing to say. No,
it’s actually not a rude thing to say
but I really think that
graphic designers are really good at graphic design
but when you use basically what we want,
we want people to click on our pins to go to our websites,
um, so we can monetize the traffic that comes to our website
but graphic designers,
they pay more attention to just that the design is perfect
or nice or aesthetic and things like that
but they haven’t really Learned what gets clicks
because many of these graphic designers,
they haven’t built blogs
and they haven’t gotten their Pinterest pins onto the platform
to see what drives clicks
so they’re just there for the designs
and that is cool for a lot of things
but I think for Things that supposed to be converting
people that see your pins,
we want them to click on it.
They’re just not the, how do you say
the authority
or that they don’t have the specialty to be able to do so.
And this is something I’m seeing over and over again
that is just not working. Also,
there are many templates for Pinterest that you can buy on Etsy
and I think they’re kind of the same principle.
They’re pretty, they’re well designed,
but I’m also pretty sure they’re not gonna drive any clicks.
And over the years, you gotta understand me here,
I’ve been really bad. I was really bad at designing my own templates,
but I’ve Learned over time what gets the clicks
and it’s a text that really pops
it really stands out because it’s a small screen,
you’re competing with a lot of other pins
and it has a strong visual element.
There’s a font kind of aspect that works
and I’m selling my five top performing templates
in my profile for only $8,
which I think is a really fair price
because it took me so long to figure out the formula
that actually drives traffic. Um,
so yeah, those are kind of my thoughts on what I recommend
instead of using the free camera templates.
