This panel is a really cool gadget for your smart home.
It can be placed on the wall by replacing an outlet,
or directly on its stand for your desktop or your couch.
The Nest Panel Pro makes you control the devices that you connect to
the e weiling ecosystem
thanks to the embedded Zigbee hub in the panel.
Apparently control other devices via some integrations.
Philips Hue works well,
but my assistant doesn’t seem to be supported for this panel,
which is kind of weird. Probably soon enough.
We’ll fix that in a future update.
But you know me, I already have,
like you, probably an existing setup.
So we’re gonna craft our perfect custom interface finally.
It’s Android based, so we first need to enable developer options
by tapping a few times here.
After that we can easily connect wirelessly to the panel using A D B.
Update the way view and tweak other few things and boom,
we can load the official my assistant companion app.
And now the fun part
designing a custom dashboard that fits this small screen.
I created a tap to control everything in the house.
One for the shades, lights,
the home sound system, and one for the thermostat.
The whole process took me less than two hours and was quite easy.
I have a guide on my website
PlayStation dot com if you’re willing to replicate my setup,
so feel free to check that out.
I was honestly surprised at how Smooth and usable this panel is.
Given its size and price,
the stock software is really the limiting factor here,
like most smart objects in the market.
However, since it’s easy to load any third party app,
the customisation options become endless,
therefore making this cool piece of hardware
definitely a great addition for any smart home. And see you soon!
