I just found out today
that there is a production of Cruel Intentions happening in Denver,
so we’re gonna go. Let’s go to the theater.
I will see you in 90 minutes to two hours,
however long it takes me. Hopefully there’s no traffic.
Welcome to the halfway point.
Dinner break at canes and Castle Rock.
Tried and true. Made it to Aurora,
Colorado to the People’s Building.
Now, I’ve been to this theater before,
but not for this theater company.
Shifted Lens Theater is a new community theater company in Denver,
and as part of their first season,
they’re doing Cruel Intentions the 90s Musical,
which is such a blast. This is based off the 1999 film of the same name.
The film has cemented itself as a cult classic of the 90s,
and this musical perfectly captures that spirit.
And this is an exceptionally well produced
community theatre production of this show,
complete with very campy direction,
a lot of really great vocals,
and it’s some really fantastic choreography.
Cruel intentions is currently playing at the People’s Building
until September 1st. So you do have one more week to see this,
and if you can’t catch it before it closes,
definitely follow Shifted Lens Theatre Company.
They’re a brand new theatre company,
and I cannot wait to see what they do next.
