Tasting Peruvian Delights: A Review of The Lomo Truck in Garfield, New Jersey

So we got some Peruvian food today
from a place called the Lomo Truck in Garfield, New Jersey.
This right here cost $23, and it is called the tripleta.
We have an order of chicken chaufa rice,
which is a Peruvian fried rice.
Order of lomo saltado, which is like a stir fry with steak.
There is salchipapa, which is a popular street food.
We got the chicken chaufa.
Also, get this green sauce with it.
Use the stuff where people say it’s oily.
I’m not getting that soy sauce.
Chicken is not dry. You get the green onion.
I still think it hits. And we’re gonna get some of this lomo.
You can see this rice is darker in color
because it soaked up a lot of that juice.
The flavor you get on this is like a soy sauce
kind of teriyaki with some juicy steak and some potatoes to soak up
that. Beef’s not dry. It’s tender.
I don’t got a lot of fries in mind,
to be honest. I want a little bit more Popeyes in here.
Potatoes, pepper.
Still got a nice crunch, too.
I’m just. I’m.
I’ve always been one of those people.
If I’m being real, when it comes to Salty papa,
it’s rarely something that I go out of my way to get.
It’s fries, hot dogs,
and pink sauce. Like,
it’s not bad. This is more like late night,
after the club type of meal for me.
Eating something this heavy.
I Just like it. It’s just not my first choice for anything.
Overall, chowder rice
7 out of 10. Sauci papa
6 out of 10. And then the limo saltado.
I will give an 8.3 out of 10.
A lot of people may be put off by the fact that it’s kind of expensive.
This plate cost $23. This is still,
to me, one of my favorite.
