Exploring New Horizons: My Sock Eye Salmon Adventure and Artistic Musings

I’m doing something I’ve never done before
actually taking one of your requests and making it
generally I’m not super inspired when I get requests
but this time this time I was feeling it
haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since I made my sardines
somebody said I should do a sock eye salmon and I was like
do I also know how to do a sock eye salmon
no am I gonna learn today
you bet is it biblically marine biologist accurate
no so to all the marine biologist and fishing enthusiast out there sorry
this is just my version of a sock eye salmon
close enough got the weird little beak
we’re good the other thing I noticed this time
and so I might start priming
is that this set of MDF boards I bought has like maybe a little coating on it
and it’s a little water repellant
so the paint did not sink in as much as the other one
I kinda liked when it sink in
maybe I’m a little crazy for that anyway
I don’t really know why salt guy salmon are so demonic looking
jump scare cause that thing ain’t right
might try and put wax over this piece
I still haven’t sealed my sardines cause I’m terrified of ruining them
but I’m less terrified of ruining this little guy
and then here’s a little look at my palette
just as a check in for those of you who are interested
in gouache but were afraid of if they would mould
no mould yet I really haven’t opened the other half of the cups
that’s part of the uh
the nice thing about the twin cups
cause I’m just sticking to my colour palette and painting on top cause I’m lazy
sorry
