With the 2024 presidential election on its way,
we went around asking Gen Zers where they get their news from.
Can you tell us where you get your news from?
Honestly, mostly Twitter.
And why is it mostly on social media that you’re getting your news?
I feel like it’s just less filtered overall
and I like to see the discussion with like
other like minded people or like different people.
And when you go through your Twitter feed,
are you seeing mostly things on the left or the right politically?
Mostly left, yeah.
And do you think that has anything to do with what your values are?
Yes, most definitely.
Um, I tend to think more on the Liberal side.
Just tell me where do you get your news?
Usually social media, which is TikTok, Instagram.
It’s easily accessible, it’s quick and easy, but I know that’s
it can get messy at times.
Are you mostly seeing things that are uh,
left or right politically?
Usually it’s left. Do you think that aligns with your values?
Yes. Can you tell us where you get your news?
I usually watch like TikTok and stuff.
Why is it usually TikTok that you’re finding your news?
It’s just the app I’m on like every day.
I feel like it’s a lot more convenient cause you just keep scrolling.
Eventually you find out what happens.
Are you seeing more left leaning or right leaning stuff?
Usually more left leaning stuff,
but that might Just because be because that’s where I am,
so it’s like, curated to me.
Tell us where you get your news.
I usually get it from social media like TikTok or Instagram.
And why is it that you gravitate towards social media to get your news?
It’s way more convenient
and you can really access all types of views very quickly
when you’re scrolling down your feed.
Like, what is it that pops up most?
Is it left or right leaning things?
It’s usually left leaning things.
And why do you think I just lean more left than right,
to be honest, but it’s still a little complicated for me.
And that’s what Gen Zers on Staten Island had to say.
