An American’s Quest: Exploring London Football Culture Through Tottenham Hotspur

An American in London. I’m probably getting into football,
and I’m on a quest to find the right team to support.
I have to find out what it’s like to be a Spurs fan.
Where you gonna? To Tottenham.
I am gonna Tottenham. So Tottenham’s a no go?
We’ll see if Tottenham’s the right team for me
or if I should just keep looking.
Not even three stops in,
an older gentleman looks at my Jersey and tells me to piss off.
Nah, this is next level.
And there’s an Everton play card for you to pee on before the game.
That is crazy. Just walked in. Five, 10 out of ten
entering the bar before the game.
If there’s one thing visual love, and that is a pint.
I must say they do a lot of chanting.
Quick question. Football,
amazing sport. But if someone’s injured,
why not try to stop the clock?
Just stop the clock.
Kind of a weird rule, but you can’t bring alcohol inside the stadium.
I tried to go in, they said, no, let’s go.
I’m loving this whole experience.
Like Spurs, it might be a one and done.
That’s the game I enjoyed everything about Tottenham.
I gotta know, why are they so hated in London?
Fans were a bit intense,
but that’s what I expect from a London football club.
probably one of the greatest football games I’ve watched in my life.
I haven’t watched much, but that was awesome.
Because this is my first proper match,
I don’t want to get over excited and say,
you know what? I’m coming to Tottenham.
But the question is, y’all,
what is the next stadium or team I should go visit?
