Imaginal Disc: A Review of Magdalena Bay’s Masterpiece Album of 2024

Pop duo Magdalena Bay just dropped their newest album,
Imaginal Disc, and it could very well be the best album of 2024.
This is my reaction to it.
Oh, there it is.
There’s that build up. There we go, baby.
Oh!
Whoa!
Oh, yeah!
Oh, yeah. The vocal.
The vocal, though.
That vocal. I mean,
it sounds heavenly. The way she’s just speaking,
it’s just so, so common.
Oh, my god, those chimes,
these drums are doing something to me.
Of course it’s good, too.
Oh, yeah.
Re hearing this, this is 100% going way up on my song of the year list.
The sin filled up. You’re not headphone user, but. Oh,
oh,
oh!
I feel like I’m on another planet listening to this.
Dude, what’s. What’s.
Oh, my god,
I can hear this in a movie.
Some crazy SCI fi movie. This would go so hard.
This is a running out of time sample. Really?
Oh,
stop. Oh, oh, the rift.
The floor is opening.
Oh, yeah.
There. End it with the guitar solo.
Why not? So cinematic.
Oh, my.
No, no, no.
I had to play it a third time.
God, these.
These builds up are blowing my mind, man.
The piano with the strings and her vocals, like. Oh!
Oh, man,
the arrangements. Oh,
that was gorgeous.
What the.
I’m sorry.
Got to end it with a synth build up.
You’ve done it the whole album.
Oh, yeah.
Magdalena Bay. Magdalena disc.
I don’t even know. What to say?
That was hands down one of the best first listens I’ve heard this year.
Maybe the best produced album I heard this year.
There wasn’t a miss on it.
There was not a miss on it.
Probably one of the best albums I heard this year.
