One of the big strategies that I’d love to share with everybody
is the concept of train
don’t tell. One time I was coaching one of my clients,
very successful software entrepreneur,
probably doing 30 million,
and he was frustrated with his team.
You know, he’s like,
oh, and this happened.
And this. I was like, oh,
what else? This happened? This. Uh.
I was like, if you ever made a list of all the things your team does,
it frustrates you. He’s like, no.
So, well, let’s.
Let’s write it down. What’s the first thing?
Well, they don’t know how to collaborate in meeting.
And he makes this list of, like,
they don’t know how to respond in Slack properly.
I mean, you name it.
He had the list. And then I said to him, okay,
rank, order it based on if the team did this,
it would make you the most money and impacts the most amount of people.
And I said,
how many of those things have you personally taught your team?
Look, your job as a leader is to actually, like,
be a mentor, be a coach, train.
That’s what leaders do. Leaders develop their people.
My philosophy is we build the people,
the people build the business.
