In Defense of Concord: A Fun Multiplayer Experience Worth Exploring

All right, I’m just gonna say it. I think Concord is getting way too much hate. And before you lose your mind, I’m not saying this is the next freaking Overwatch killer. I’m just saying it’s fun. And a lot of the hate that I’m seeing comes from people who have not even played the game. Don’t shout out PlayStation for Friday with a review copy for Concord. And before I even see the comments, I played both the beta and the open beta before I even knew I was getting a review code. Now I think if you enjoy the beta, I think you’re gonna have a great time with the full game. And kind of the same coin, if you didn’t enjoy the beta, the full game is not gonna win you over. Graphics and performance wise, it runs exceptionally well. I know a ton of people are complaining about the characters. I I’ve seen people say that these things live and die with the character designs. I guess I just see things differently. I enjoy how they play. I really don’t care that much how they look. Again, I seem to be in the minority. It’s perfectly fine. They’ve all got many different abilities. I like numerous of the characters. And again, it’s fun to play. Now, mind you, I majority play single player games. I don’t dip too much into multiplayer, and I was never huge into Overwatch. So again, this may be completely different for Somebody who has put thousands of hours in Overwatch. That is not most people’s complaints. The majority of the complaint is why is this $40 and not free to play? Sony dumped a bunch of money into this. Like millions and millions. And to be fair they are having weekly like cut scenes added and did motion capture. Again, I’m not excusing the price point or or or anything like that. I’m just trying to provide some clarity. Unfortunately, I’m not sure that that’s gonna pay off as far as the story and characters are some of the least interesting aspects of it. I was hoping it’d be more interesting. I don’t really think so. While I have genuinely had a blast playing with this my friends, I’m just not sure I would play that much to spend $40 on it. But keep in mind, I have no problem with this being a paid game as long as all the characters that come out are free to play and any kind of payment is just cosmetic only. There’s a lot of these free to play games like Overwatch 2 you actually have to like pay for the character. So again, there’s some added value there. Also play this on PC and PS five. I think they both run really well there. I think Concord is a really fun multiplayer game to play with friends, especially if you can kind of like split the cost together. I just really Am not sure I see the long term vision here. Especially with the weekly cut scenes. I’m very curious as to see how long that’ll last.
