Test Driving a Used Car: Key Things to Pay Attention to

So I just test drove this used car. Anytime you are test driving a car, it’s a couple things you want to pay attention to. The smell is important. Get under that engine. Soon as I got out, I smelled and I said, something doesn’t smell right. Smells like oil burning. We always talk about. Do turn. Turn the wheel all the way to the left, to the right. Feel how the steering feels. Listen for sounds that don’t sound normal. Listen for loud ticks in the engine. Some of the small four cylinders have a regular tick, but it shouldn’t be something that’s annoying. That doesn’t sound normal. Uh, take it on highways. You must take it on highways. Cause some dealers and some people can program their cars to drive well under 50, 60 miles an hour. Get it on the highway, see if the car starts shaking. Um, but the smell hit the brakes too. If you hit the brakes and see, do you. You. All of this stuff you are testing, that’s why it’s called the test drive. It’s not for you to test it to see. Hey, do I like this? It’s to test the things on the car and see the integrity. Go over bumps. Do you hear anything loose underneath that car? Does it sound like something shaking? Do you get that feeling in your gut? That doesn’t sound right, that doesn’t, uh. That doesn’t look right, that doesn’t smell right. Pay attention, So that you don’t get duped. Alright, follow me for more advice.
