Overcoming Pre-Flight Jitters: Finding Joy in Air Travel

Flying still gives me a bit of anxiety, and today I have a nine hour flight to Greece. But I’ve noticed something funny about pretty much every flight I take. When I first book it, I start getting nervous about the thought of being on a plane and it actually keeps me from feeling excited about the trip. And it only gets worse the closer I get to the travel day. But I swear, every time, without fail, as soon as I actually get on the plane, I have a great time. It’s like a traveling theater with snacks and drinks. It just goes to show you, hardly anything is ever as bad as we build it up to be in our heads before we do it. But we may never actually realize that until we experience it for ourselves.
