Golf Updates: Fitzpatrick’s Equipment Clash, BMW Championship Victory, Captains Named for Teams Cup, and Shrixon’s New Driver Revealed

Here’s what’s happening in the golf world today. Matthew Fitzpatrick got in a heated debate with a rules official regarding a broken driver with a cracked face. He attempted to replace the head utilizing a new local rule, but the official said that the damage was not significant enough to warrant a replacement. He ended up placing tie 28th with four birdies on his back nine. Egan Bradley won the BMW Championship yesterday with a 12 performance, beating out Ludvig Ohberg and Adam Scott. He jumped 46 spots to be ranked fourth in the FedEx Cup going into the Tour Championship next week. Justin Rose and Francesco Molinari have been named the captains of the 2025 Teams Cup held at Abu Dhabi Golf Resort in January of 2025. The new Shrixon driver for 2025 has been spotted on the USGA conforming club list called the Shrixon ZXI. No additional information on the build of this club, but we can reasonably assume we’ll see this in players bags in the coming months. As well as an announcement, Lydia KO won the AIG women’s Open with a seven under par performance through four days, beating out four other players by two shots at 500 par.
