Burning the Midnight Oil: A Day in the Life of a Single Mom Attorney Running a Law Firm and Balancing it All

Day in the life of a single mom attorney who headed to the office at 1:30 in the morning. I would be lying if I said that this was not a regular thing for me. But at the end of the day, running a growing law firm takes way more than 40 hours a week. What I’m not trying to do is have my son feel like I work more than 40 hours a week, though. So what does that mean? That means that I head to the office by the times of clubs are still open. I know that anybody seeing this from the outside in would think that it looks completely miserable, but, y’all, I absolutely love doing this. I don’t know. My mind just functions way better at night. I’ll never know how to answer the question. When do you sleep? Because honestly, I have no idea. I wake up in the middle of the night and just feel like I need to be at my desk. And yes, I do have a caffeine addiction. And we power through it. Y’all, you honestly cannot pay me a million dollars to work a 9 to 5 under fluorescent lighting. My mind just functions at the times that it just functions, and that’s at night. Y’all, I still do my makeup because when you look good, you feel good. And my office is right above the gym, which makes it extremely convenient for me to get a little quick Workout in. By this point, it was around two in the afternoon, and I was ready to go home. But I still went upstairs, ate some lunch, helped my handyman Jorge assemble some of my IKEA furniture. But after that, I was beat. So I made it home just in time for dinner and to spend a little bit of time with my son. Hope you had a good day.
