Title: The Evolution and Nerfing of Sentry in Rainbow Six Siege: A Game Changer or a Missed Opportunity?

Yes, with the new season of Rainbow Six Siege, proximity alarms no longer display points when triggered now. This came right after Sentry was added to the game, who is a remastered version of recruit. And he’s kind of useless. And the only thing which people really use him for was a Strat they found. If you mix a proximity alarm with a Nitro cell. If you place a proxy alarm on a doorway or a window or any bit on a soft floor and prepped a Nitro cell below, the moment you got points on your screen you detonated the Nitro cell and you would get yourself a kill. Considering that mostly every defender can do what Sentry can do but better, that was kind of the only thing that was unique to century and the only reason people would really play him. But after a season of being out they are now removing that. Which is pretty much an indirect massive nerf to century. Because without that strap being as strong, there’s not really a reason to pick sentry at all. Why would I play Observation blockers and Bulletproof Camera on sentry if I can play maestro and get 3 evil eyes and observation blockers? Why would I bring impact Nades and barbed Wire in Sentry when I can play Melusi and get 4 banshees and a pocket Shotgun. There’s not really a reason to play Sentry, and this was kind of one of the only reasons. You still can do it. But considering that they could have nerfed proxy alarms at any point during their existence, it’s kind of annoying that they’ve done it when it was making an operator useful without that strat, and with that strat now being severely nerfed on Sentry, not really a reason to play him.
