according to Mark Gurman apparently apple will be joining us this century by adding 16 gigabytes as the base spec of their new M4 series computers about time I’m glad they’ve dropped the attempt to brand 8 gig is 16 gigs really wink wink Nord Norton nonsense that they attempted last year and bear in mind this will become ever more important as more and more people realizing hang on a sec I’ve got an integrated GPU with a sharing memory with my main system memory so maybe having more of it rather less of it is a bit important and I swear the first person who comes in the comments starts talking about optimization I will be slightly mean to but I’ve warned you anyway these new M4 series machines are gonna come with either 16 or 32 gigabyte options and who knows they may not even charge you extortion of amounts of RAM for the double the amount upgrade I okay now I’m not holding my breath on that one but anyway it’s nice to see that apple realizing RAM is important especially as it helps prevent the machine from paging out to its own SSD all the time which is not replaceable and when it goes you’ve destroyed your Mac
