Exploring Lyon: A Wheelchair Accessible Hotel Experience

I’m just checking in. Is it a wheelchair specific room? I have just arrived in Lyon and my friend Leon, he’s been here and he says Leon is great. And did you know it’s the third largest city in France? About to check into my hotel. I booked it on booking.com and according to booking.com, it’s a wheelchair accessible accommodation. So let’s check in and see if it is actually accessible. Uh, bumpy cobblestones. Woo! Bonjour. Bonjour. I’m just checking in. Is it a wheelchair specific room? Yeah. Uh, yes. Yes. Okay. Hmm. Perfect. Have a great afternoon. Thank you so much. Thank you. You too. Okay. Have a good stay. Thank you. It supposedly is a wheelchair accessible room and we’re on level 2. Let’s see how accessible it is. Well, if it’s on level 2, it’s definitely not the penthouse. Oh, there’s already a lip to get in here. Come on in. Wow. So this is the accessible bathroom. It has a bar toilet with a grab rail and has a shower as well. Swinging door and large bed. Beautiful swan towels. Isn’t that romantic? But yeah, very cute. There’s a little desk area and the neat thing is you can wheel under it and fit your legs and fit your legs under the table. And there’s a balcony. Do you think they’ve got a portable ramp? It’s a big step. She whiz a safe which is up high so you don’t have to worry about wheelchair people. Stealing your things cause they can’t reach up there. And a little mini bar which is nice and low. So I just found a cute little hidden area in my room. It’s got little bunk beds. How cute is that? And that is my room. I’m gonna have a nap.
