I know a lot of y’all know me for my engagement story and everyone has a lot to say about that some good some not so good I see you I’m gonna take a break from talking about engagement stuff until I have new news to update you guys with but I also thought I would bring you along with me to my day job I host a radio show I’m a musician and my radio show is so chill I get to play like literally any music I want so if you’re an indie artist you can also send me your songs and I’m happy to play them on the show I’m actually in LA right now for work I’m writing a bunch of songs with some homies out here but I have to host a radio show from the road so this is kind of how I do when I’m out of town I have my Audio Technica Mic XLR cable Audio Technica headphones shout out to the John Lennon Songwriting Award they sent me all this stuff for free when I won the Lennon Award in 2022 I bring my Apollo Twin I also won this in the Lennon Award I would not have this expensive of equipment if I did not win that award so this is what it looks like from my end I’ll go here right now we have Sabrina Carpenter playing please please please these are all the songs that I can load ins I feature an artist every week and Thomas Go Forth was the artist that I featured a couple weeks ago he’s still in rotation um you see like if songs do well in our rotation we keep them in this week in particular I’m gonna be doing my Top 10 Rock countdown so we’ll kick it off with a little bit of there there by Radiohead so I’m loading that one into the system put on my handy dandy headphones let’s do this you’re listening to Young Country 96.7 FM Nashville I’m Chelsea King this is Alternative Hour where I’m playing all of my favorite rock indie underground and alternative hits today is my top 10 countdown I’m reporting to you from the road today I’m in Los Angeles actually reporting to you from my best friend Alisa’s bedroom we have a great stacked show today I’m gonna kick us off with a little bit of My Bloody Valentine my favorite album Loveless uh the best song on that album in my opinion is when you sleep they literally bankrupted their record label recording this they went crazy with the tones they invented a brand new genre they invented shoegaze this is when you sleep by My Bloody Valentine on Young Country 96 7 FM Nashville so now we just like let the song play and then I’ll come back and talk but usually when I’m in the studio you can actually hear the song playing but since I’m doing this remotely obviously you can only really hear it on the free app or on the airwaves let’s get ready for jazz night at Lakma this is the fit got the cowboy boots got the shades snacks got my water bottle now we’re gonna go meet up with this is our picnic spread for jazz night I brought earplugs cause I burst my eardrum two weeks ago but the jazz is so far away I don’t think I need them
