Seven Airmen Heroes: The Epic Rescue Mission in Zion National Park

Seven airmen are being hailed as heroes after rescuing a pregnant woman and three others during a flash flood in Zion National Park. The seven airmen are. And bear with me, because there’s seven of them and I’m not remembering all of them. Airman 1st Class Will Martin, DeMarcus Norman, Maximus Alade. Sorry if I screwed that up. Jacob Stillwell and Roni Lopez Aguilar, along with Airman Andres Parra and Christian Ray. They’re on a nice hike earlier this month in Zion National Park when the river began to rise, which usually indicates a flash flood is coming. They started moving in the higher ground when they saw a woman floating down the river on her back, battered, bruised and lifeless. DeMarcus Norman leapt into action, putting himself self into the fast moving water to pull the woman to shore. The woman was barely responsive, so the airman contacted rescue personnel who told her to take her further down the Canyon so they could get a helicopter there and get her out. While moving her, she came to and told them that she was pregnant and that she was with three other people, one of them her husband. They thought they were all done doing rescues, but then they found the three other people, one of which was trapped on the other side of the river with an injured knee. With no way for that hiker to make it safely across, the airman from the goddamn human chain in the Fast flowing river to get him to the other side. It’s pretty safe to say that had they not pulled the woman out of the water, she. You would probably be dead right now. And then they went on to rescue three more people, putting themselves in even greater danger. Thankfully, they we’re all able to make it to a safe spot where rescue personnel were able to get them out with a helicopter. Back at the base, they were presented with coins. Normally, this is where we’d rail against the command for only giving these seven airmen coins for literally putting their lives at risk to save four people. But we’re gonna hold off on that in the hopes that they do the right thing and give them an actual award that will go on their records and make them look good anyway. A solid hell fucking yeah! Out of these airmen.
