Desolation and Conflict: The Haunting Reality of a Ghost Town

I’m not sure I’ve been in a ghost town before, but it’s pretty spooky around here at the moment. The place is virtually abandoned. 23,000 people were evacuated from here and 60,000 people evacuated from across the north. Over that hill is Lebanon, which for Israelis means not just Hezbollah but Iran as well. On Sunday, Israel made what it said were preemptive strikes into Lebanon. Hezbollah says it then fired 340 rockets into Israel. Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported at least three killed in Israeli strikes. Israel reported one death, not including Sunday’s attacks. Hezbollah has fired more than 18 cross border drone, rocket and artillery attacks on Israel since October 7 last year. Israel has launched more than 7,000 targeted attacks in Lebanon. Recent attacks have caused 60,000 Israelis to be evacuated and 100,000 Lebanese people to be displaced.
