Defining My Photographic Style: Insights from Professional Photographer Brian Rupp

These are four things that help me define my style as a photographer. First thing is the camera settings that I use. I really like the look of fast apertures. I use mostly prime lenses and an aperture of f 2.0 or even faster. Second thing is how I use light. I’m very intentional about how I use directional light. I love shooting backlit with the sun behind subjects if I’m taking photos of people. If you watch my reels, almost all of them are backlit. The third thing is how I edit my photos. I’m always going for feel above all else when I’m editing photos. And fourth, how I work with my clients and what I want to capture about them. I want to capture them as they actually are. Yes, I want them to look their best, for sure, but authenticity and honesty is my main goal when I’m taking pictures. My name is Brian Rupp. I’ve been a professional photographer for 18 years. I love teaching people photography and helping them to make money with their cameras. If you’re a photographer who could use some support, learning the style of photography you love and making money with a camera, I started a community just for you. It’s called inspired and profitable. I’m adding a limited number of members to the community. If you are interested in being a part of it, send me a DM with the word inspired and follow me for more.
