Reclaiming Your Time: A Strategic Approach to Balancing Work and Life

One of the problems that people have out there is that when they want more money, they trade more time. What sucks if you’re in a W2 mindset is, I commit 40 hours a week to this company. They pay me $60,000 a year. That’s not enough for the bills that me and my wife and our kids have. Because there’s been some health complications and my wife lost her job. I’m gonna also pick up a part time job. I’m gonna put 25 hours over here. I’m gonna make 30,000 a year. So now I’m collectively bringing home my household income of 90 thousand dollars a year. But between that commute, I’m out 75 hours a week. Well, now you have no work life balance. So for your third stream of income, I’m actually not gonna make it about money. I’m gonna make your third stream time. And here’s why. If you have a W2, there’s little that you can do to delegate or outsource projects to win time back. One of the benefits of owning a business is that I bought a franchise or I acquired an existing business. I picked a company that makes $200,000 a year because I’m gonna hire a manager at 100 grand a year and I’m gonna have them grow this thing and I’m gonna keep a hundred grand for me. But now it only needs maybe an hour a day or maybe a couple hours a week. And what I’ve Just done is I’ve got my time back.
