Review: Aldi Crab Cakes – A Home Cooked Adventure

Friend, y’all are going crazy about these crab cakes that I got from Aldi. So let’s see what they give it now. Again, friend, these are crab cakes that I got from Aldi. It says they’re made with real and imitation crab meat and fish. What’s that? Flakes. Okay, they do get air frying instructions, though, but I don’t know if this is a typo or they trying to be funny. It says to preset, and I don’t know what that is. So we’re gonna start by preheat. Preheat our air fryer to 350 degrees, and then we’re gonna let these cook for 13 to 15 minutes. Probably 15 minutes for sure with me. Here’s how they look out the packaging, friend, they’re actually a good size. Our air fryers done preheating, though, and it’s gonna go for 15 minutes. And while that’s doing that, friend, what you’ve been doing. I feel like I haven’t said that in a while. Your friend was kicking it during Leo season. But I just want to say thank y’all so much for all the birthday love. Y’all really made it something so special. I’m kind of say it’s over, but we definitely had a time on that trip. Did we? Oh, and I’m sorry some of y’all had to see that side of me. I promise. I really am kind and sweet, but I’m still just Aaliyah from Chicago. But anyway, our crab cake is delicious. And look at that. My place smell Like a little fish market. So I got high hopes for this. I do. Looking at this, I’m like, this wasn’t your best plate in Lavelle. You made a little silly face, didn’t you? But we gonna try the crab cake just straight out the packaging, so not docked up and everything. OK, it’s a good look. Cut. Here’s a close up of the inside. I don’t know if that’s crab or fish I’m seeing, but if it’s crab. Alright Aldi, here we go. Oh! What? EWW. Let me duck this up a bit. We’re gonna add some lemon to it and then of course some hot sauce. Oh, baby. That’s really what it need. I feel like this don’t really top that thing off. Mm hmm. That is it. Hear me out, friend. I’m not mad at this. Haha. I’m not mad at it at all. Although it’s not giving me, you know, restaurant quality crab cake, it does have a resemblance and taste giving me more of like a fish Patty blend situation. I think these would be perfect for a little crab cake sandwich at home. I want to make that. Maybe we’ll do that together. I know the price point wasn’t bad. You get five in a bag. What more could you really ask for? Go boom, Bam!
