Embracing the Unpredictability: Finding Balance and Enjoying the Unexpected Journey

I can’t express how weird this week feels, especially at my school, because everybody’s dialed 24 7 here. And since it’s the first week of classes, you legitimately have nothing to do before school works. You get to spend a lot more time with friends, go out to dinner and do fun things. But the other half of you is like, I really want a routine. I was talking to my friend yesterday. I’m like, I’m kind of excited for classes to pick up, which is crazy. Like, I should just appreciate this time, but I found it in the past. The worst possible thing you can do is try to force routine on you. This never works, and you’re gonna get burned out. You kind of just have to go with the flow in the first couple weeks of. And that’s why right now, if I’m not able to get five days a week of an intense lift, and that’s fine, I’ll play basketball instead. Or if I’m not able to eat super healthy every single meal, that’s fine. I’ll go out to dinner with my friends and enjoy this time, because I know that routine will come, and when it comes, I will be ready, and we’ll get after it.
