here’s the truth about dupes as with anything in life there’s going to be good and there’s going to be bad but the Amazon dupe of this dress it’s bad I originally saw the dress on any given Sunday and a bunch of other influences on my timeline and then I also saw the dress on another influencer and she got hers from Amazon both beautiful girls but immediately I could tell the difference in quality between the Amazon dress and the original because of my background in the industry my eye fixates on certain things and immediately just looking at the way the dress moved and the quality in that video I could tell immediately that they captured the aesthetic of the dress but the main focal point that is below to that higher price ticket the quality that was missing the biggest indicator was the movement of the fabric when an article of clothing is being duped the biggest thing that they’re saving on is fabric and the second thing is construction and that usually includes a attention to detail if we take a look at the fabrication of the original you see that it’s a polyester crepe with georgette immediately people hear polyester and they go oh my gosh Ew but as I stated before in other videos not all polyester is created equal as you do have some high end polyester to put things in perspective the polyester that was used as a mix with this dress wouldn’t be the same as you see at a Shein or Zara things that could raise the price of this fabric would be the hand feel that simply means how the fabric feels to touch weight of the fabric specialty colors so on and so forth just to give you an example this stretch polyester retails at $50 a yard if the original dress designer used something similar that is what adds to the cost of that garment they highlight that the dress also features padded cups for lift and support as well as an invisible side zipper flashing back to the georgette fabric I’m guessing this is a silk because that makes more sense at that price point taking a peek at the Amazon style my first thought when I saw this was that the structure looks completely different and while the aesthetic is there the dress itself seems very limp this is what the interior looks like on the dupe and it is something aligned for a dress that you would see for $25 the review highlights the poor quality and the fact that this Alabaster hand is able to shine completely through this cause you’re gonna fall unless you take my hand no give me your other hand oh my other hand isn’t strong enough you take my little hand no get it away from me it’s quite frightening to see extremely cheap extremely lightweight and you can see the roping down at the bottom hem that quality yeah that element is missing the topic of duping itself is a pretty hot ticket discussion as you have people that are for it and you also have people that are starchly against it me personally I tend to be anti dupe but I get it people are gonna do what works best for their pocket with that I’ll say this when it came to doping previously there was at least some sort of art to it vendors were at least trying to find a similar fabrication for less they were trying to execute as much of the construction as the original as they possibly could to maintain that design’s integrity in the era of fast fashion quality and construction has gone out of the window and if Chanel themselves are having quality concerns the dupes being of lesser quality while also concerning is not as shocking all of that to say sometimes people purchase dupes thinking that no one will notice the difference and in some cases that is true but on the flip side of that if you’re dealing with somebody that has a discerning eye somebody that is familiar with quality and construction or somebody that knows how to clock tea that just isn’t hoist the case not saying you should run out and buy that are seen address but what I am saying is do not get that Amazon thinking that the quality is the same because some people see the difference
