Character Building: A Review of Black Myth Wukong’s Boss Designs and Gameplay Mechanics

The game takes all my least favorite boss designs and times it by 20. That’s just called character building, bro. You’re supposed to see without seeing in Black Myth Wukong against the giant bosses that they put your camera straight to the jondles and you have no idea what your character’s doing. It’s just character building, man. Now those fights were cool, but I couldn’t tell what was happening for the vast majority of the fights, which is not a good thing. And it kept getting worse too. In Chapter 5 there’s some pretty big not bosses, but there’s a really big dude that you legit can’t see anything. So the solution to that would I guess, be putting your camera away. Maybe, but on this particular guy he blocks you with a shield. He blocks your character model with a shield. And another thing that I did not like at all was certain times in the big bosses you’d be attacking them but you wouldn’t get any damage. Doing a staff spin. And try and build some pips for your staff combos what not. You’re spinning, but you’re getting zero damage off that. Happened on the Hundred Eyed Daedalus, the Scorpion or Centipede Guy, which he was. That. That thing was a little ridiculous. The fact that you needed to have an item to make chat the second phase just disappear if you didn’t have the item. Huh. Good luck. And I didn’t have the item, so it was Definitely painful. Now one thing that folks don’t talk about in my experience is the fact that we get bosses at the end of Chapter 5 and for the majority of Chapter 6 that have cut scenes. Except you can walk around in them. But by that I mean they run away from you the entire match. The inspector guy? That the first guy in Chapter 6. What is going on in that fight? He is always doing a cutscene and I’m sitting there twiddling my thumbs waiting for the ability to attack him. That fight. I about fell asleep. I about fell asleep. And then the teacup nerds. And the end of chapter 5 in the secret area. Huh? Oh my goodness. Let me. Let me play the game! Let me swing! And then when you swing on certain bosses, they have a thing where you just can’t hit them. Am I playing Monster Hunter? I mean, kinda. The game feels like Monster Hunter plus souls, to me at least. I’d say like more like dauntless plus souls. The end of the game felt like Monster Hunter plus souls cause you’re asleep. But for the most part it was dauntless slash wild hearts plus the souls plus soul systems. Now I’m excited for Monster Hunter World. As a random tidbit, so I’m not really throwing too much shade, but yeah, the game it’s. It’s an amazing game, but there are some aspects that made me not the happiest camper. Anyway, thanks for comment. Have a good day. Peace.
