So what is an artistic routine? It’s basically just the standard practice of creating art in your schedule. And it’s called a routine because it’s like an exercise routine. You do it regularly in order to continue growing. It’s something that you do consistently throughout all the UPS and downs of creating art. I really think that the more rigid your routine is and the more rigid your plans and your goals are, the more likely you are to completely give up on them as soon as they no longer fit in your life or match your interests. One of the most essential parts of having an artistic routine is to pivot and to change and to recalibrate them as you go along. So overall, I think having a steady, creative routine is conducive for growth. Not just artistic growth, but also better mental health and a more positive attitude towards your art, which does a lot for your ability to learn and enjoy what you do.
