Smoked and Sauced Wings: The Perfect Game Day Recipe

Well, it’s football season, and that also means it’s wing season. So let me show you how to make these smoked and sauced wings. I start off with about five pounds of raw chicken wings, and I like to use a combo of the flats and the drums. Then I go in with some hardcore carnivore sweet and give it a really generous coating. I like to stack them on wire racks cause it just helps load up the smoker much faster without having to mess with each individual wing. I’ve already preheated my pellet grill. It’s running at 2:75 and the wings are gonna take an hour all up. Once they’re loaded in, I just leave them alone for 30 minutes and then I come back with some spray oil and give them a really good coating and that’s gonna turn them super golden and a little crispy. I let them roll for 30 more minutes and it’s time to sauce. My trick is to actually use our burnt end sauce for this. It’s really thick and hyper glossy so it coats the wings really well. Look at that shine! Oh, and by the way, if you forget any of your ingredients like the rub or the sauce or the high heat gloves or butchers paper whatever. Academy actually offers Doordash now so you can have any last minute items delivered to your home or your tailgate so you never need to run out of the good stuff again. Once they’re coated, I throw them back in the smoker for five or 10 minutes just to set the sauce. And you end up with the most smoky, glossy, thick, sweet wings. B Y O. Football game and have fun out there.
