Is this the best bottle of Bourbon under $50 on the market? Some might say. I don’t know. Let’s find out. So this is the representative from proof and wood. I’ve heard really good things about this. I feel like certain people always have it on their list. It scores well in these competitions. It won the World Whiskies Awards in 2023. Bourbon World’s Best Barrel Proof Bourbon H 4 years. Hundred and sixteen point eight proof. Mash Bill is 75% corn, 21% rye, 4% malted barley. It is a straight Bourbon whiskey distilled at MGP. Bottled by proof in Wood Ventures in Bardstown, Kentucky. Has a nice little wax top on it. Let’s give it a go. Okay. Yeah. Now what do we do with that? Great. Let’s give this one a little pop and see what we think. Three, two, one. Meep. Smells good so far. Let’s give it a nice little pour. Little light on the color. Little light. Aged minimum two congressional terms. That’s what it says on the back of the bottle. The representative. They also have the ambassador and the senator. And it’s like their whole Washington DC lineup, which, um, we’re not going into. Okay. On the nose. Smells delicious. Little bit of ethanol coming through. We need to let that one open up a little bit. I mean, I’m getting a little oak, a little vanilla, a little sweet spice on the the nose. Let’s go in, give it a taste, because End of the day, we all know that’s what actually matters most. I could give you a thesaurus of, like, things that I’m smelling, but, um, who gives a shit? What’s it taste like? Yep, that’s delicious. I was getting ready to dog on this one. That stopped me in my tracks. Wow. There is like, a really, really nice, like, peach or peach cobbler. I’m actually blown away. I, I, I wanted to hate on it. Oh, man, I kind of wanted to hate on it cause I like it wins all these awards. Yeah, I can see why it wins these awards now. It’s actually pretty good. Really, really nice mouthfeel. The texture on this, the viscosity, really, really nice creamy. Coat your mouth with a nice, like, butterscotch caramel finish. Getting a lot of peach, a little bit of apple, and it’s got a nice little bright fruit palette to it. And then the spices there is. This is a really super, like, just solid sipper. I, I can see myself just crushing this. This might make, like, end of the year, like, top bourbons under 50 bucks. This is good. I’m, I’m digging this one. Wow. Definitely could use, like, an extra couple of years in a barrel. It is probably incredible, but for the price point, 50 bucks, I’m happy with that bottle. Let me know in the comment section.
