Tragic Death of NHL All-Star Johnny Goodrow and His Brother Matthew in New Jersey Collision

No.13 Johnny Goodrow, NHL All Star Johnny Goodrow and his brother Matthew were killed when they were struck by a car while bicycling on the side of a New Jersey road. The tragic incident took place on the Eve of their sister’s wedding. New Jersey State Police say 43 year old Sean Higgins drove a Jeep Grand Cherokee that fatally hit the 31 year old hockey star and his 29 year old brother. Higgins attempted to pass a sedan and an SUV when he collided with the bikers. Police suspected Higgins operated the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and after further investigation, Higgins was charged with two counts of death by auto. Higgins was being held without bond at the Salem County, New Jersey Correctional Facility. Jail records show there was no attorney information listed. Johnny Goodreau, a father of two, was a star hockey player for the Columbus Blue Jackets. The team released a statement about their player Johnny, saying the team is quote, shocked and devastated by this unimaginable tragedy.
